The 2025 GMC Yukon to Receive its Own 5G Network
The GMC Yukon full-size SUV will attain a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year. The refresh will introduce many upgrades and changes, including new infotainment features and hardware to support the full-size SUV. Furthermore, the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon will also attain 5G network connectivity, which is noteworthy.
Unsurprisingly, the impending Yukon will upgrade a 5G connection, especially considering that the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe and refreshed 2025 Chevy Suburban will also make the switch. Currently, the fifth-gen GMC Yukon offers a 4G connection. Nonetheless, for those unfamiliar, 5G is the fifth-generation cellular network technology that replaces the fourth-generation (4G) cellular network technology. Cellular companies started deploying fifth-gen 5G tech in 2019, with the benefits including greater bandwidth and expanded capacity.
Besides the new 5G technology, the refreshed Yukon is also set to feature updated exterior styling. The new external approach includes a redesigned front fascia featuring new C-shaped headlights in line with the latest GMC styling trends. The front fascia will also have new fog lights, and a new roof-mounted communications antenna will enable the SUV’s latest 5G connectivity. Furthermore, the rear of the SUV will also have styling updates, including new taillights.
Apart from the new 5G technology, the reimagined GMC Yukon will feature a cabin experience like never before. The new cabin features include a digital instrument panel and a larger infotainment screen. The GMC SUV’s latest infotainment features will also lead to updates in the center stack and dash design, among other things. It is still being determined whether the Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels will continue to offer a unique interior layout.
The 2025 GMC Yukon may offer three powertrain options under the hood. The engine options include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax, which replaces the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax currently offered. The 2025 GMC Yukon may debut before the end of 2023.
