Will the US Receive the Buick Envista?

Not too long ago, we reported that Buick debuted the brand new, never heard of or driven before, Envista. The American automaker identifies the vehicle as an “urban compact SUV” assembled solely for China. Yet, America faithfully romps around with the Encore GX, Enclave, and Envision. Furthermore, Buick’s Chinese market has an extraordinary lineup of sedans, minivans, and SUVs.

“The launch of the Envista is part of our strategy to further elevate Buick’s SUV lineup and meet our customers’ diverse needs in China. It delivers a more youthful, personalized character of Buick and will attract new customers who appreciate high-end design, confident performance, and advanced technologies that will energize their journey in every respect.” –Cesar Toledo, General Director of Buick Sales and Marketing

The elegant Buick Envista will maintain a starting price of around $21,000 for the Chinese market. In addition, the compact SUV features wireless device charging, wireless Apple Carplay, and over-the-air support. Other features of the Envista include a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, and the new Tune Melody 3D surround sound system. Furthermore, optional features for the Buick Envista include a flat-bottom steering wheel for that plush appeal and perforated leather seats.

The lavishly compact SUV is the first vehicle to house Buick’s new tri-shield logo. In addition, to the new emblem, the Buick Envista exudes a coupe-like allure with its low sitting grille, slanted headlights, and demanding snout. Furthermore, the compact Buick seems active even at a halt, thanks to its stream-like lines resting along the body’s surface and a dashingly sporty fender.

The Buick Envista erupts to life through a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine generating 181 horsepower through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). That’s adequate power for an SUV maintaining a 106.3-inch wheelbase and a length of 182.6-inches.

While little is known about whether or not the Envista will find itself inside American showrooms, what is understood is that Buick’s General Motors trademarked the Envista name via the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2019. As of now, no one knows, but Buick may have a special surprise in store for the US after all.
