The GMC Yukon Refresh Sneak Peek Reveals Acadia-Inspired Interior

GMC is making swift strides towards harmonizing the interiors across its lineup. Recent spy shots provide a sneak peek into the forthcoming GMC Yukon full-size SUV updates, promising a partial exterior refresh and a substantial overhaul of the interior, heavily influenced by the design cues seen in the new Acadia.

The focal point of the interior is a prominent vertical touchscreen dominating the center stack, complemented by a floating multifunction knob positioned in the lower quarter of the screen. Beneath the screen, chunky piano-key style buttons are discernible, likely linked to climate control functions as indicated by the screen’s readout. Flanking the screen are vertical air vents, with subtle hints of wood trim visible. While much of the dash remains concealed, the resemblance to the Acadia’s interior is striking, with the screen and vent arrangement mirroring each other closely. The similarities between the Yukon and the Acadia suggest that the interior design will likely feature an instrument cowl extending to meet the center screen, with the rest of the dash adopting a clean and minimalist aesthetic. Notably, the test vehicle’s steering wheel has the necessary lights and sensors for Super Cruise, hinting at its potential inclusion in the upcoming Yukon model.

Regarding exterior updates, the new Yukon will see more subtle changes compared to the comprehensive redesigns planned for the Acadia and Terrain. Spy shots indicate that revisions will primarily focus on the front and rear fascias, although they remain heavily camouflaged. Anticipate alterations to the grille shape and headlights, albeit likely to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The pictured example suggests an AT4 trim, evidenced by the shortened front bumper aimed at enhancing the approach angle. Furthermore, it’s plausible that the next AT4 iteration will adopt the signature amber fender marker lights seen on GMC’s HD trucks, Canyon, and now the Acadia.

Given that this is a refresh rather than a complete redesign, it’s reasonable to expect the new Yukon to debut sometime this year or early next year (2025). The model will likely continue to offer the existing range of engines and transmissions, including both gas V8s and the diesel inline-6.
