GMC Unveils the 2024 Acadia as it Returns to its Full-Size Roots

GMC’s Acadia SUV enters its third generation with a complete overhaul for the 2024 model year. This update sees the Acadia returning to its original full-size philosophy, departing from the downsized second-generation model that still managed to cram three rows of seating into a compact frame. The 2024 Acadia stands 3.2 inches taller and boasts an extended wheelbase of 8.4 inches, resulting in significantly increased interior volume and a bold new exterior design.

The full-size Acadia’s powertrain configuration has also transformed. While last year’s model offered a choice between a turbocharged four-cylinder and a naturally aspirated V-6 engine, the latest iteration comes to life through a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The V6 engine generates 328 horsepower and 326 pounds-feet of torque, outperforming the previous V-6 by 18 horsepower and 55 pounds-feet of torque. Furthermore, the turbocharge engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission, promising responsive performance on the road.

Trim levels for the 2024 Acadia include the well-equipped Elevation, featuring a host of standard amenities such as 20-inch wheels, a power liftgate, keyless entry and starting, and a suite of advanced safety features. The AT4 trim level caters to off-road enthusiasts with a raised ride height, off-road-tuned suspension, and a specialized all-wheel drive system. Meanwhile, the range-topping Denali trim offers luxurious touches like real leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a head-up display.

The Acadia doesn’t disappoint in terms of safety. The GMC SUV boasts a comprehensive suite of standard safety technologies, including forward collision warning, lane departure steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and more. Optional features like automated parking and GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driving further enhance the driving experience across all trim levels.

With its return to full-size stature, enhanced powertrain, and many features, the 2024 GMC Acadia reasserts its position as a formidable contender in the SUV market.
