The 2022 Buick Envision holds two rows of seating for up to five passengers. Additionally, the Envision comes in three trim levels: Preferred, Essence, and Avenir. Moreover, the Buick Envision comes standardly equipped with front-wheel drive, but an additional $2,000 can equip the SUV with all-wheel drive.

The base trim for the Envision starts with the Preferred. The Envision Preferred features black or beige cloth seats. Standard features for the preferred include single-zone manual air conditioning, front power windows with a one-touch up/down feature, cruise control, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, an electric parking brake, and active noise cancelation. Then there’s the 8-way power driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar, and the rear seats feature a 40/60 split-bench design with a folding center armrest and two rear cup holders. Additionally, there’s a 12-volt outlet in the front console with a second in the rear cargo area.

The Envision Preferred also features special packages such as the Comfort, Convenience, and Sport Touring. Additionally, the optional Comfort and Convenience Package includes a hands-free power liftgate, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, in-vehicle air ionizer, an infotainment screen upgrade, and 7-speaker audio with amplifier. The Sport Touring package includes 20-inch dark finish alloy wheels, a dark finish exterior trim, and a dark grille surround with chrome mesh inserts. Moreover, a panoramic roof is also optional.

The Buick Envision Essence adds to the Preferred Comfort or Convenience package with leather upholstery, an 8-inch color driver information screen, an 8-way power passenger seat with power lumbar support, and driver’s seat memory.

Available to the Essence trim is the Technology Package I, which adds front and rear parking sensors, HD Surround Vision camera, navigation, heads-up display, and a 9-speaker Bose audio system. Another package available to the Essence trim is the Technology Package II which features automatic emergency braking, enhanced parking assist, adaptive cruise control, rear camera mirror and washer, and adaptive dampers.

The Avenir is the top-tier Envision. Additionally, the Avenir trim adds to the Technology Package I with diamond quilted leather seats, distinctive interior trimming, and a 110-volt outlet on the rear console. The Envision Avenir’s front seats are heated and ventilated, and there’s a massage feature for the driver’s seat. Furthermore, outboard rear seating positions are heated, and there’s wireless Apple CarPlay. Moreover, the Avenir cruises on 20-inch aluminum wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish with front and rear parking sensors.

Engine Types

The Buick Envision comes to life through a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The turbocharged engine generates 228 horsepower and pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Buick SUV is brisk enough to merge onto any busy highway, and its well-damped suspension assures there are no outside disturbances. However, the Envision isn’t a fireball of power; instead, the SUV trades in agility for a luxurious excursion that glides over harsh impacts. Additionally, the Envision provides a decent amount of feedback for a mid-size crossover and a sharp response with moderate effort.

Exterior Features

The Buick Envision is a curvy SUV with elegance, ready to strike up the day or the night. Since the Envision was refreshed for the 2021 model year, the 2022 model premieres swept-back headlights that fold into the SUV’s crevasses. Additionally, the Envision features a team of LED daytime running lights that magnify the SUV’s magnetic grille. Furthermore, the Buick SUV sports thick roof pillars that balance the rear fenders and keeps the Envision well grounded.

Interior Features

The Buick Envision’s exterior does not do the cabin justice, and the mid-size SUV is abundantly spacious. Additionally, the Envision’s interior provides a stunning layout infused with practicality. Inside the Envision is a sophisticated interior with two rows of seating and a five-seat cabin. The SUV’s rear seating comfortably sits two large adults and provides them decent foot and knee space. However, headroom decreases with the available panoramic sunroof. The optional power liftgate provides 25.2-cubic-ft of cargo that expands to 52.7 cubic feet once the rear seats are folded. Furthermore, the Envision’s cabin is quieted through softly padded materials to alleviate the outside commotion.

Entertainment

In between two air vents lies the Enclave’s 8.0-inch infotainment screen, but the Essence and Avenir trim features a 10.2-inch IntelliLink touchscreen. The interface is simple-to-use and its graphics are crisp, clean, and loaded with features. Additionally, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard infotainment features. Furthermore, enthusiasts can connect electronic devices to the onboard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The Buick Envision features a SiriusXM satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and active noise cancellation.

Safety Features and Warranty

For the 2022 model year, the Buick Envision features rear parking sensors, active lane control, and blind-spot monitors. Optional standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, front parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.
