The GMC Hummer EV Has 59,000 Reservations & Counting

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV is brand new from top to bottom with an all-electric spin on the iconic nameplate. The Hummer EV is the aftermath of a perfect marriage with rough and tumble off-road capability and the latest head-turning technology from General Motors EV. 

According to General Motors, the automaker has attained close to 59,000 reservations for the GMC Hummer EV. GM’s reservations came shortly after releasing the automaker’s Q4 2021 earnings report.  The reservations are a combined total of the GMC Hummer EV pickup and the GMC Hummer EV SUV. 

The reservations range-topping models for the Hummer EV’s pickup and SUV filled immediately. The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 truck debuted on October 20th (2020), and by the evening, reservations filled. Like the Hummer EV pickup, the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 SUV premiered on April 3rd (2020), the Hummer SUV reservations were full within an hour. 

A few drivers have already spent quality time with the thrilling new Hummer. For instance, the 70’s show couple (Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher) were seen in Los Angeles turning heads in their Edition 1 pickup. 

Since tending to reservations, GM has loaded trucks up with new units for the GMC Hummer EV. As a result, a few Hummer EVs were spotted on the way to dealerships. 

The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 Pickup offers multiple powertrain options. The range-topping GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 pickup yields 1,000 horsepower and a three-motor setup. The EV pounces through past, present, and future with a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds. When the Hummer EV holds a full charge, the range reaches 329 miles.  

Production for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV commenced at the GM Factory Zero facility located in Detroit, Michigan. The GM Factory was once known as the Detroit-Hamtramck, but the plant’s mission of being GM’s first all-electric facility remains the same. Additionally, General Motors has ramped up its all-electric vehicle production with a $6.5 billion investment to back up.
