The 2024 GMC Sierra HD Ultimate is THE Luxury Pickup

GMC gifted us with our first glance at the 2024 Sierra HD Denali Ultimate, and it’s got the pickup segment in a chokehold. Initially, the heavy-duty truck exhibited a new top-level trim and a variety of powertrain and technology advancements. Of course, only a dedicated Sierra lover will recognize the truck’s improvements. Still, anyone new to GM’s engineering will find it unthinkable to settle for any other truck once they experience these new electrifying features. 

Now it’s understandable to pass by a gang of pickups on the interstate, but it’s challenging for anyone not to stop and appreciate the Chevy Silverado HD. Nevertheless, similar to the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500, the new Sierra Denali premieres a new body and a dreamy interior. So, there’s no hope for the Chevrolet Silverado HD; the 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate is the pickup that people dream of.

It doesn’t get any beefier than the Sierra Denali Ultimate’s 6.6-liter Duramax diesel producing 975 lb-ft of torque and yielding a spirited 470 horsepower. The Duramax diesel engine’s ferocious power originates from a few modifications to the L5P engine. For instance, the L5P inherited a rich turbocharger, new pistons, new cylinder heads for better cooling, a new engine controller, new fuel injectors, and higher injection pressure. 

Head to the wheel, and inside, there’s more potency in those hands than conceivable. Since the added gears enrich the Sierra Denali’s drivability, the 2500 HD tows close to 22,500 pounds, while the 3500 HD model drags a monstrous 36,000 pounds like it’s tugging away at the wind. 

An Interior Worth Salivating Over 

The Sierra Denali Ultimate’s interior is full of full-grain leather for the trim-exclusive Alpine Umber color. Found throughout the Denali’s cabin is a dark Paldao wood with microsuede coating the headliners, visors, and portions of the A and B pillars. 

The most premium trim for the GM pickup reveals front seats that adjust in 16 ways. In addition to the diverse seats, the Sierra Denali harbors the Bose system and 12 speakers for an immersive experience. Moreover, the pickup holds a 15-inch head-up screen, a power sunroof, and a rear camera mirror. 

A few features we’re excited about for the future Denali Ultimate are the Gross Combined Weight Rating Alert System and the new transparent trailer camera. Moreover, the Gross Combined Weight Rating Alert System tells the pickup driver they have overextended the truck’s gross combined weight rating. 

Exterior Advancements 

Most of the Sierra Denali Ultimate’s outer body refinements include the fascia, grille, and front bumper. GM took the exterior improvements up a notch, with each trim of the dynamic pickup attaining a unique look. Moreover, the functional handrail scoop for the Duramax diesel engine’s design earns a unique crossbar for specific Denali Ultimate trims. 

Even though most heavy-duty pickups’ exterior modifications exist at the front, the back also harbors more useful tail lights. So, to witness the lighthouse, ignite the pickup, or employ the turn signals, let the magic begin. Furthermore, the Sierra Denali Ultimate, SLE, and AT4 trims premiere new wheel alternatives, such as the 22-inch wheels. 

The Sierra Denali’s Dark Vader Chrome trim is unparalleled to any other Ultimate model. The Dark Vader trim wears 20-inch wheels with machined and high-glossed pieces. 

In addition, the Sierra features a MultiPro Tailgate, which opens in six different ways. So many ways enthusiasts can savor the 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate.
