The 2023 model year looks promising for GMC. The automotive General will offer fans a plethora of mid-cycle refreshes and all-new generations for its ferocious lineup. So spend some time with the chronological breakdown of what’s to come from General Motors (exclusive to the United States and Canada).

Early 2023

The third generation of the midsize Canyon will commence production in a few weeks (January 25, 2023) at the automaker’s Wentzville plant in Missouri.

From there, it’s time for the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition to shine. Reservations for the Sierra AEV Edition opened before the closing of 2022. In addition, the first round of Sierra pickups should already be on its way to enthusiasts. Next up, there’s the simple but never simplistic Sierra AT4X that will acquire the AT4X AEV Edition’s standard features. Further, Sierra fans can customize the AT4X AEV Edition via the GMC website.

From there, it’s all about the GMC Hummer EV (pickup truck) debuting in 2022. The Hummer SUV will launch shortly after, and production will erupt at the automaker’s Factory Zero Plant, formerly known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant.

By the Spring of 2023

Currently, the crab-walking EV Pickup Edition 1 is in production, but it remains to be determined whether it will serve as a 2022 or 2023 model. Once the Hummer Edition 1 orders are fulfilled, it’s time to construct the EV3X trim, which will also come to life at the GM Factory Zero plant. Following the construction of the all-electric pickup, the EV2X and EV3X models will initiate production sometime in the Spring of 2023. Moreover, the Hummer EV2 will ignite in the Spring of 2024.

The Sierra HD will soon acquire a mid-cycle refresh in February of 2023. After that, the iconic pickup will come to life at General Motors’ Flint Assembly plant in Michigan. Moreover, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will reveal a reconsidered exterior, a reimagined interior, and powertrain refinements, to name a few.

Once assemblage is fulfilled for the future GMC Canyon Elevation, Denali, and AT4 trim, the AT4X will debut in Spring (2023). There are some mumbles of a potential Canyon AT4X AEV trim; however, General Motors has yet to speak up about a production date.

Before 2023 Turns into 2024

Before 2024 sweeps us off our feet, the Yukon and Yukon XL will acquire a mid-cycle update. The revitalized 2024 GMC Yukon has a production date set for November 2023.

Last but far from least, the Acadia will premiere at the end of 2023, with production prepared for early 2024. The 2024 GMC Acadia will resume transiting on the American automaker’s C1 platform, with development shifting to GM’s Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
