A Brief Look into the Reorganized 2022 Buick Lineup

2022 Buick Enclave 

The most drastic changes of the 2022 Buick lineup come from the smallest SUV, with a new turbo engine. The new turbo engine comes equipped with a four-cylinder engine with direct-injection fuel delivery. 

The four-cylinder delivers more than 12 percent more horsepower and roughly 20 percent more torque, producing enhanced productivity than the 2021 Enclave that carried a 1.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine.

The new Buick Enclave features a standard active safety tech that will come included even on the base model, Enclave Preferred. In addition, Buick’s Driver Confidence Plus suite includes emergency braking, lane centering, blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. The center console also receives a restyle, refined exterior styling, and new wheel designs to amplify the second-gen. 

The HVAC system also sees an upgrade on the Enclave with an electrical heater. 

In addition, the driver and front passenger seat-back map pockets support extra storage. 

2022 Buick Encore GX

The current best-selling Buick, the Encore GX, will see new options in exterior colors. The exterior paint will include Cinnabar Metallic, Sapphire Metallic, Sunset Glow Metallic, and Rosewood Metallic. 

The 2021 Encore GX carried 137-horsepower turbocharged with a 1.2-liter inline-three. But the new Encore GX bears only one engine option with 155-horsepower and a 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine. 

The larger modeled Encore carries the same platform as the Chevrolet Trailblazer subcompact crossover and is also a heavy contender for the 2021 SUV of the year. In addition, Buick believes that the 2022 Encore GX provides improved standard active safety features with an intuitive infotainment interface to match. 

2022 Buick Envision 

The 2021 Buick Envision is a baby in the life cycle, Buick’s second-generation Envision. The 2022 Envision will receive Sapphire Metallic just like the 2022 Encore GX. Envisions Essence trim will receive red seat stitching as well. Additionally, Buick will add alloy sports pedals with “ST” embroidered in the front-seat headrests and floor mats for the Sport Touring trim.
